This WSQ Operate Boom Lift course will help your team begin to operate boom lifts properly.
BECOME AN EXPERT WITH BOOM LIFTS
THIS BOOM LIFT COURSE EQUIPS WORKERS WITH THE APPROPRIATE OPERATIONAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND MINDSET NEEDED TO FUNCTION ON A Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP) SAFELY.
Trainees must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:
- Be able to listen and speak in English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills (ES) level 3.
- Have a basic knowledge of the relevant sectors of work that requires a boom lift.
- Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3; and
- Be medically fit to work at height.
- Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES level 3.
MODULES & LESSONS
All trainees will learn everything needed to be able to operate boom lifts safely and effectively.
SAFETY DEVICES, SINAGE, LABELS & CONTROLS
Understand what hazards are and how they could pose a risk to your operations.
TYPES OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
This module will show you how to prevent an imbalance.
OPERATIONAL PROCEDURES
Not every machine is suitable for every job. This module will show you how to select the appropriate machine.
MODES OF MANEUVERING
Before you start usage of all scissor lifts, it's important you know what to do.
POST OPERATIONS
What are the main components of an operational scissor lift machine? You'll find out in this module.
DAMAGE AND DEFECTS
It's advisable to know the limits of each scissor lift in order to keep your operations safe.
